Anyone reaching for an apple or an avocado will get the fright of their lives. Also, the eyes aren’t limited to food. Put them anywhere to scare everyone. These DIY Halloween decorations require cardboard, wood and a big mallet so ensure you have the proper safety equipment and make sure an adult is present. The first bit is easy – paint some big squares of cardboard white with red painted blood drips around the edges and write creepy signs on them for the trick-or-treaters. Like the old favourite ‘abandon hope all ye who enter here’ or ‘warning, this house is haunted’ or ‘knock if you dare’. Then, fix them to the wooden stakes and either lean them up against your garden wall or hammer them into the grass. You’ll soon find out who’s brave enough to come calling!
